Your experience starts with the preparation of the dough using traditional methods passed down through generations. You’ll knead and shape the bread before baking it yourself to enjoy later.
While the bread rises and cooks, you’ll be guided through the making of a classic homemade jam using fresh seasonal ingredients. Learn how local flavors are preserved in simple yet time-honoured ways to create the perfect accompaniment.
Once everyone has finished preparing the bread and jam, you’ll enjoy them together warm and fresh, paired with Saudi hospitality and stories about their role in breakfast traditions across the kingdom.
After the workshop, step outside and take time to explore Souk al Zal, just a short walk away, or wander to Masmak Fortress to admire this remarkable piece of Riyadh’s history.

How to get there
- • The meeting point for pickup is at the Irth Cafe, located here, and the class will start promptly at 1:30 pm. Please make sure you arrive early at the location so you can find the space. Once inside please let them know you are here for the Dunes & Dates Jam & Breadmaking Workshop, and you will be shown to the cooking station
