A Taste of Al Ahsa Al Ahsa
Discover the millennia-old relationship between the people of Al Ahsa and the bountiful paradise in which they live and learn how this expansive desert oasis has become one of the kingdom’s finest producers of food and artisanal goods.
After pickup from your hotel, you will be transferred to a local farm where you will learn about the production of the iconic produce of Al Ahsa, including Hassawi rice, rose petals, black lemons, and dates.
The tour then continues to a local farmers market where you will meander through the stalls trying a selection of locally grown exotic fruits and, when in season, try the local delicacy of palm heart.
Explore the region’s oldest pottery producer before heading to a local restaurant for a feast of delicious regional dishes including jareesh, hassawi rice, and harissa. After eating your fill, head over to the house of allegiance to learn about its historic significance over traditional coffee cooked on the coals.
The tour moves on to Qaisariya Al-Ahsa Souq where you can experience several stops to learn and interact with the local culture before trying a range of local desserts, then having free time to explore the souq and shop to your heart’s content.
