Heritage Kitchen Presents: Saudi Coffee Making Workshop Riyadh

The ancient coffee traditions of Saudi Arabia are showcased through this live coffee-making workshop under the watchful eyes of a bilingual chef.

Begin your journey by meeting the chef and being introduced to the space, the equipment, and the history of Saudi coffee and it’s importance to Saudi culture.

The preparation begins with the roasting of the coffee beans in the traditional roasting equipment before grinding them by hand in the classic Nijr mortar and pestle. Brew your coffee before adding the classic Saudi spices to elevate your brew to the next level.

Once everyone has finished preparing the coffee, you will learn the serving etiquette of Saudi Arabia while enjoying dates before heading into the cafe to enjoy a choice of one of 4 desserts with your coffee.

After you are finished, take a step outside and investigate Souk al Zal on your own, which is a short walk away, or take a stroll to Masmak Fortress and take in this impressive historic building from Riyadhs past.

How to get there

• The meeting point for pickup is at the Irth Cafe, located here, and the class will start promptly at 12:00 pm. Please make sure you arrive early at the location so you can find the space. Once inside please let them know you are here for the Dunes & Dates Coffee class, and you will be shown to the cooking station
